Missing Persons reports are filed daily, thankfully most people return safe and well within 72 hours. However thousands every year do not return.

The families and friends left behind suffer a never ending nightmare of not knowing what has become of their loved one.

The police have the primary role of searching for a missing person, then there are organisations set up with databases updating details of people, the circumstances in which they disappeared, photographs (including age progression) and general physical characteristics.
